Choosing Your Filament

Which filament should I choose?

Choose according to your project:

  • PLA – ideal for everyday printing, models, prototypes and decorative objects.
  • PETG – suitable for stronger functional parts that require improved durability and moisture resistance.
  • ASA – designed for outdoor and technical applications requiring UV and weather resistance.
  • ABS – a durable material for functional and engineering parts.
  • TPU – flexible filament for parts that need elasticity, impact absorption or grip.

Which filament is best for beginners?

PLA is generally the easiest material to begin with. It prints at moderate temperatures, usually requires no enclosure and is suitable for a wide variety of projects.

Are KATREG LABS filaments compatible with my printer?

Our 1.75 mm filaments are compatible with most FDM/FFF 3D printers designed for this diameter. Always check your printer’s supported materials, nozzle requirements and maximum operating temperatures.

Why does KATREG LABS use cardboard spools?

Our cardboard spools reduce the amount of plastic used in packaging while remaining practical for storage and everyday printing. Please follow your local recycling requirements when disposing of the empty spool.
